Aloe wickensii, also known as the Wicken Aloe, is a compact succulent plant native to South Africa. It belongs to the Aloe genus and is characterized by its rosettes of narrow, lance-shaped leaves and striking orange-red flowers.

  • Size: Aloe wickensii typically grows to a height of 30 to 60 cm, with a spread of about 30 to 60 cm.
  • Leaves: The leaves are slender, lance-shaped, and toothed along the margins. They are typically a blue-green color and arranged in tight rosettes.
  • Flowers: Mature plants produce tall stalks topped with clusters of tubular, orange-red flowers, typically in winter or early spring.
  • Light: Aloe wickensii thrives in bright, indirect sunlight. Place it near a sunny window where it can receive several hours of sunlight per day.
  • Watering: Water Aloe wickensii sparingly, allowing the soil to dry out partially between waterings. Ensure that the pot has drainage holes to prevent waterlogged soil, as this can lead to root rot.
  • Temperature: Aloe wickensii prefers warm temperatures between 18°C to 27°C. Protect it from temperatures below 10°C, as prolonged cold exposure can damage the plant.
